EcoCity New Chandigarh is a planned, ultra-modern township located at Mullanpur in New Chandigarh, developed under the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA). It is characterized by eco-friendly, green surroundings and is part of the fast-developing Chandigarh Tricity region.
KEY HIGHILITS OF ECOCITY NEW CHANDIGARH as of 2025:
Eco City Phase 1: Launched in 2011, spread over 400 acres developed under 100% land pooling scheme where farmers became stakeholders without displacement. Developed by Larsen & Toubro Ltd, with infrastructure like roads, public health, electrical, and horticulture services established. Development was targeted to complete by 2014.
Eco City Phase 2 and Extension: Around 450 acres acquired for Phase 2. The highly anticipated Eco City-2 Extension scheme covers 96 acres, launching in late September 2025 in Hoshiarpur village, offering 153 residential plots (135 plots of 1 kanal or 500 sq. yd. and 18 plots of 2 kanal or 1000 sq. yd.) and 68 commercial plots.
Residential plots are priced at around ₹55,000 per sq. yd. (~₹2.75 crore per 1 kanal plot). Allotment will be through a transparent draw for residential plots and open auction for commercial plots.
Amenities: The township will include group housing societies, schools, parks, club and sports complexes, dispensaries, and other civic facilities.
Development Status: After a long delay of over 12 years mainly due to regulatory and social impact assessments, the project is now moving forward with tenders floated for infrastructure works like roads, sewerage, water supply, and electrical connections.
Connectivity & Growth: Strategically located close to Chandigarh, Mohali and upcoming IT corridors, it is poised to become a leading real estate hotspot with strong growth and investment potential.
